David began swimming at very young age at the beach in Southern California. He swam at Loyola High School so he could play water polo. After competitive sailing at U.C. David is one of the first members of Team Night Train that swam the English Channel in 2008. Other notable swims include: touching the buoy at the Farallon Island to complete the relay swim in 2011 and winning the Mayors Cup at RCP Tiburon Mile.
